This is a bowling game played between two teams on two lanes in a bowling alley with the assistance of the bowling alley personnel. The bowling alley personnel must program the game and send it to the lanes upon request.
Definitions:
A Throw: When a player on a strike ball team makes a single attempt at throwing a strike. Each player on a team will get one throw per turn.
A Turn: When each player on a strike ball team attempts a throw. Each team, starting with the team selected go first, completes their turn before allowing the oppsoing team to take theirs.
A Round: When each team has taken a turn.
A Game: The number of rounds played until a team wins.
A Bonus: Achieved but a team throwing 3 strikes in a row, 5 strikes in a row, and 6 or more strikes in a row. When a bonus is achieved, the bowler who achieved the bonus will remain on the lane while a bonus shot is racked by the pin setter. The bowler will then attempt to cover the shot. (Bonus shots are typically corner pins and simple splits. They can be adjusted to change the dificulty of the game).
Game Winner: The first team to reach the score of 21 or higher. A full round must be completed before finalizing the score. In the event of a tie at 21 or higher, anpther round will be played until there is a winner.
Session: A selected number of games played in sequence. A session could be an agreement to play 5 games with thr best 3 out of 5 being the session winner.
Session Winner: The team that wins the most games in a session.
Game Play:
Two teams of 1, 2 or 3 players alternate throwing 1 strike ball. The team selected to go first will
Strikes are scored with an “X”, 9’s are scored with a “/” and everything else is scored with a “—.” The pinspotter is set to re-rack after each single throw. Spares will be programmed by the lane or facilitator for bonus shots.
Scoring:
Strikes = 3pts
9's = 1pt
Bonus shots = 2pts
Bonus: Earn a bonus shot when a team throws three strikes in a row, 5 strikes in a row and every strike over 5 in a row.
Bonus Points: When a bonus is earned, the player remains on the lane while the pinspotter racks a spare selected from a range of preselected spares. Typically the spare will be a corner pin or one of the least difficult splits. This can be modified to adjust the difficulty of the game. Covering the spare earns the team 2 extra points.
